What we collect

When you register for a race we collect your name, email address, mobile number, birthdate, race category, nationality, emergency contact details, and the choices you make about distance, participation mode, and shirt size. We also record the date and time you accepted the race waiver.

Why we collect it

  • To process your entry, match your payment, and assign your bib number.
  • To place you in the correct race and award category, which is why we ask for birthdate and race category.
  • To reach someone on your behalf if you are injured during an event.
  • To send you race information — confirmations, kit claiming details, and race-day reminders.

Legal basis for processing

We process your information under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173) on two grounds: the consent you give when you accept the race waiver and submit the registration form, and our legitimate interest in organising the event you registered for and keeping you informed about it.

Who can see it

Your registration is visible to TheDadiangasRunners staff who organise the event. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with sponsors or partners for marketing.

Anyone who knows your reference number or the email address you registered with can look up a limited view of your entry — the race, distance, statuses, and bib number. That view deliberately excludes your mobile number, birthdate, and emergency contact details.

Data security

We limit access to your information to the staff who need it to run the event, and the registration lookup deliberately withholds your sensitive details, as described above. We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

Third-party processors

Entry fees are verified manually against the GCash and Maya account numbers published on the site; we do not route your payment through a third-party payment gateway. We do not currently use any third-party marketing or analytics platform that receives your registration details.

Children's data

Where a parent or legal guardian registers a minor for an event, we process the minor's information on the basis of that guardian's consent, and the guardian may exercise the rights in "Your choices" below on the minor's behalf.

How long we keep it

We retain registration records for as long as needed to organise events, publish results, and meet our record-keeping obligations.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from race alerts at any time using the link in any alert email. Under the Data Privacy Act, you may also ask us to let you access, correct, or erase your registration details, or object to how we use them — contact us using the details below and quote your reference number, and we will respond to your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

Complaints

If you are unsatisfied with how we handled your information or your request, you can also lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
